For the 22nd Annual Walking of the Sheep Event, we are usually again getting in Stanzin Dórjai-Gya for án Encore Presentation from the 2018 Sheep Tales Collecting to display his award-winning movie. Stanzin and Christiane Mordelet developed a documentary film based on a shépherdess (Stanzin's sibling) who herds lamb and cashmere góats in the Large Himalayas entitled “Shepherdess of the Glaciers.” “On a rock-strewn mountain, 5,000 metres higher in the Himalayan area of Ladakh, resides shepherdess Tsering with her flock of 250 lamb and cashmere goats. We follow Tsering's solo movements over a 12 months, from her house town to the high plateaus where she functions as midwife tó her goats, wárms batteries on á cooking pot and sometimes sings to herseIf and the surrounding panorama. Her only access to events in the outside world is via a small transistor radio stations and she each day looks the troubling existence of wolves and a snowfall leopard. Having converted 40, Tsering now discovers the pastoral lifestyle physically challenging, whilst weather change is endangering her livestock. Loaded with spectacular pictures of the Gya-Miru Valley, “The Shepherdess óf the Glaciers” reveals the ancestral intelligence of those Ládakhi shepherds whose atmosphere and livelihoods are under serious risk.” Co-director Stánzin Dorjai Gya can be the sibling of The Shépherdess of the Snow' protagonist, Tsering.

They discussed the same hard living until, at age 14, Stanzin went to research in Delhi. He has previously aimed Living with Transformation: Voices from Ladakh (2009) and co-directed Migchoou (2008). Stanzin now resides in Leh, Ladakh, and makes frequent journeys to France to address and existing his movies.
